At Pure Prairie Seed, we focus on one thing; the production of high quality local genotype prairie seed. 

We do this by growing single species stands of prairie grasses and wildflowers whose origins are Pierce and St. Croix Counties (western Wisconsin).  The nursery includes machine harvest and hand harvest plots as well as a seed processing facility. 

All of our seed is processed and packaged on-site and is tested by an independent seed laboratory for purity and germination.  Unless otherwise noted, all of our seed is sold by Pure Live Seed (PLS) weight.  This insures that, if you order a pound of wildflower seed, you will get a full pound of viable seed.

We understand that prairie restoration projects can be costly and a large part of that cost is the purchase of seed.  We strive to sell our seed at affordable prices, keeping your costs lower and helping to make your dream of a restored prairie or conservation planting become a reality!
